CARE INSTRUCTIONS.
Our products are almost exclusively made of solid wood. We use food-safe and ecological oil for surface treatment.
For this reason, our products cannot be put in the dishwasher, but can be simply brushed under hot water. The best way to preserve the quality of the elegant surface is to rub the surface dry with a tea towel afterwards.
Signs of wear and tear are part of every kitchen tool, and the resulting patina is evidence of countless delicious meals that have been conjured up with the help of this object. The raw material wood is particularly sensitive to moisture or dryness, which can lead to slight deformation. The color, feel, texture and brightness of the wood surface can also change over time.
If the surfaces of our products lose color and shine over time, you have two options to visually enhance them using the following care instructions:
1. If you have kitchen surfaces, tables, chairs or other furniture, you should contact us first. Since our surfaces are created in a very labor-intensive process, post-treatment without the right tools and know-how is sometimes not advisable. In particular, when it comes to special stained surfaces, iron or stainless steel surfaces and linoleum fronts, sound specialist knowledge is required. We therefore recommend that you contact us first. We can either give you helpful tips via remote diagnosis or you can leave the restoration entirely to us. In a personal exchange, we will find a satisfactory solution for you and your piece of furniture.
2. If you want to refurbish the surface of one of your cutting boards or other kitchen utensils from our workshop, we have the right instructions for you here. If you frequently wash an oiled surface, the original color can slowly lose its strength. In this case, you can polish the object occasionally. You should do this with a food-safe oil that is as colorless as possible, such as linseed oil. To do this, first rub the object with a thin layer of oil. Then remove any excess oil immediately with a paper towel. Then rub the surface thoroughly dry and leave it to dry in the open air overnight.
If you have the right tools and background knowledge, you can of course sand down the surface of a heavily used cutting board before treating it with oil. Please note that this can distort the original shape and special design of the board.
The look and feel of our products may change over time. In addition, cracks may occur under certain circumstances due to environmental influences. This is a purely natural product. During the manufacturing process, we naturally ensure that we do everything in our power to exclude any loss of quality of our products as far as possible. Should such visual defects nevertheless occur, this is part of the natural aging process and is therefore not covered by our warranty for material defects.
If you have any further questions about care, we are always happy to help you by email, telephone or via social networks.
